Finalist against Kumasi Cornestone at Accra Sports Stadium.
GAFA requests Sekondi Hasaacas to play a Mid -Week friendly match against Asante Kotoko before the final match on Sunday. Hasaacas informed GAFA that, since many of their key players were recovering from their injuries, they found it impossible to honour that mid-week friendly match before the final FA Cup on Sunday in Accra.
The Ghana Amateur Football Association (GAFA) under the chairmanship of Ohene Djane issued a Press Conference and banned the club for taking part in the FA finals in Accra.
The club was ordered not to have Sekondi as their base but to play the rest of the League matches in Tarkwa. Despite the many protests that came from many Clubs, organisations, sympathisers, Ohene Djan never changed his decision.
Immediately after this untimely decision, Sekondi Independence Football Club was founded to replace Hasaacas in Sekondi.
Hasaacas used Tarkwa as their home base. It was the 1966 coup that brought Hassacas back to Sekondi, This was followed immediately by the banning of Sekondi Independence Club (INDECE) from the league.
